EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT & WAYS TO IMPROVE THEM
What is Employee Engagement?
Employee engagement refers to how committed they are to
their company, how passionate they feel about their work, and how much effort
they put into it. Engaging employees goes beyond games and events. Engaged
employees look at the whole company and understand their role within it.
How is employee Engagement Measured?
A short survey with just a few questions can be used to
measure employee engagement, but such short surveys can only give an indication
of whether employees are engaged. Lack of details, they have a hard time
explaining why employees are engaged or disengaged. Without sufficient
information, Company cannot develop meaningful activities, training programs,
strategies, and initiatives to increase engagement.
Components of Employee Engagement
Engagement with the company measures how employees are the
entire company and how they feel about management. This factor has to do
with trust, fairness, values, and respect, as well as trust in the company's
management.
Engagement with the Manager refers to how employees relate
to their direct supervisors. It includes feeling valued, treated fairly, receiving
feedback & direction & have a strong relationship between employee
& manager based on mutual respect.
Ways to Improve the Employee Engagement
- · Promote better company transparency through communication.
We need to communicate with employees in a transparent
manner without hiding anything by this we can make the employees clear about
what they are doing & why they are doing it.
- · Encourage open line communication between employees.
We should allow & encourage employees to have a good
connection with other employees. If they know each other they will work together
to achieve a common goal.
- · Give individual attention to employees.
Giving individual attention to employees will help them to
feel like they are being respected so, they will be more engaged towards their
work & company.
- · Provide regular training & Development.
To make an employee engaged we should give proper training in
results they will develop their self & give more attention to their work.
- · Recognize the employee talents & reward them fairly.
We always should have an eye on an employee's talents & we
should encourage them. Moreover, we should reward them for the works they have
done.
- · Communicate deliberately and regularly.
Communication is the best way to make the employees engage
in their work. So, we should communicate with them deliberately &
regularly.

When engagement level of the employees increases, it improve their productivity and as a result it improves the financial standing of the organization.
